Effective Preparation For Business Presentation - 844 Words

In the book Effective Preparation for Business Presentation, the author Dr. Jeff Lewis provides excellent guidelines and his personal success tips to prepare business presentations. The book consists of five chapters each building on one another. Dr. Lewis describes details in each chapter focusing on effective communication through presentations. This paper attempts to show the key takeaways from each chapter of the book. The first chapter titled â€Å"Importance of Communicating Well† emphasizes on why it is important to communicate properly. Communication is one of the key skills for any success in life, whether it is in a relationship, in a workplace or in any aspect of life. It also helps understand others, learn new skills, and boost career and employability. In fact, nowadays communication has become so vital that employers list this as the main job requirement in all job postings. This shows that a graduate who has developed some skills in communication is more employable than others who did not. The chapter also provides important steps and models for planning and preparing business presentation. And finally, Dr. Lewis writes, â€Å"you know when you are ready when you have practiced the verbal and non-verbal elements of your message†(P. 23). This shows that perfection comes from preparation and practice.
